Current doctoral student Mariana Mendes Bahia’s recent systematic review article was selected for ASHA’s “Research Tuesday”, a program designed to promote broad dissemination of trending topics in CSD research. For one article selected from ASHA journals each week, ASHA grants open access to its readership and summarizes main findings on multiple forms of social media. Mariana’s research addresses the physiologic effects of the effortful swallow maneuver (Bahia Mendes & Lowell, 2020).
